Successful hybrid workplace and team – what is the specific challenge and what should companies do now? 3 tips

In the last 12 months of remote work: we learned to collaborate online, to communicate, to use tools and we became aware of the issues of synchronous and asynchronous collaboration. Most companies I am currently talking to will be working in the more or less hybrid teams in the future after the pandemic or as soon as it is possible. In the hybrid work environment, there are specific other aspects to consider, which I briefly explain in this article.

Retrospective with the Celebration Grid

In projects for my clients, I regularly do retrospectives to reflect and improve our work. I also facilitate them. Usually, in a retrospective, you ask the following questions: what was good, what was bad, what needs to improve. I introduced and experimented with the „Celebration Grid“ in my retrospective. In this article, you will learn more about this practice.

Play Delegation Poker for improving decision-making and more self-organisation in your team

To get clear about each team member’s responsibility for what and at what level, I suggested introducing the management 3.0 practices „Delegation Board“, and „Delegation Poker“. Both practices not only allow you to have better transparency about the responsibility people should take over. With the delegation board and delegation poker, you can also increase employee engagement through more self-organisation within the team. In this article, you will learn more about this practice.

How to learn about the intrinsic motivation of your team by playing Moving Motivators

Moving motivators is another powerful tool and game from the Management 3.0 framework. I use “Moving motivators” in retrospective and team-building workshops. The goal of this game is to improve communication in the team by getting a better understanding of each team member’s motivation. It shows the intrinsic needs and values of each person and how everybody responds to them.

How to use a Team Competency Matrix to develop your team

I tried out and experimented with the Team Competency Matrix in my consultant network. The Competency Matrix is an easy to use but powerful Management 3.0 tool to show the competencies your team has, what you need, and where the gaps may be. In this article, I would like to share the idea behind this approach and how it helped me to verify skills, identify, and close gaps. It is a spreadsheet that lists and classifies all skills you may need in your team.
